VJ Visuals for Viva Braslav — Two‑Day Performance on the Main Stage

This was my second time performing as a VJ at Viva Braslav, one of the largest electronic music festivals in the country. I worked on the main stage for two evenings, during the late‑night sets featuring electronic music from well‑known DJs and producers from different countries.

Content Preparation
Part of the visual material was provided by the artists and their management teams. I edited their assets into separate clips and loops, preparing them for live control and synchronization with the music.
However, the majority of the content was created by me. I developed a series of atmospheric and abstract visuals using 3D techniques in Cinema 4D, focusing on depth, motion, and mood suitable for EDM performances.

To ensure flexibility during the show, each footage piece was prepared in multiple variations:
– different levels of dynamics
– brightness adjustments
– alpha‑channel versions for layering and blending
This allowed me to mix visuals live and adapt quickly to the energy of each set.

Live Setup and Workflow
In Resolume, I used a structure that works exceptionally well for EDM:
Three columns per visual concept
– Column 1 — slow, atmospheric loops
– Column 2 — strobing or high‑intensity loops for drops
– Column 3 — rhythmic loops for dance beats
Each column contained several layers, allowing me to use MIDI faders to switch, blend, and vary the visuals while staying within one cohesive concept.

Performance
Both nights ran smoothly and confidently. The visuals matched the energy of the music, and the multi‑layered setup allowed for expressive, dynamic control throughout the performances. It was a strong and memorable experience, reinforcing my presence as a VJ on large festival stages.
